Built in 1927, The Memorial Chapel is one of the Christchurch City's finest historic buildings. Built of stone and terracotta bricks, this extensively timbered interior has arched beams and wood wall panelling with a parquet floor. The elaborate wooden panel behind the altar, the finely carved altar rails, the 15-meter isle, the nine stained glass windows and the large selection of roses in the surrounding garden help to create one of the finest religious spaces in Christchurch.
